Poklonnaja mountain - memorial park the area of 98 hectares. The park is based
in 1961 on a grief Poklonnoj and is a part of a Great Patriotic War Memorial. On
May, 9th, 1995 in day of the 50 anniversary of the Victory the Victory Memorial
on a grief Poklonnoj is opened, which includes Stellu - an obelisk of 141,8
metres (on 10 centimetres per every day of war) with a bronze figure of the
goddess of a victory of Niki and covered with bronze bas-reliefs, the Central
museum of the Great Patriotic War with an adjoining art gallery. Here there is
the Temple of Sacred Great martyr George Pobedonostsa constructed under the
project of architect A.Poljanskogo and consecrated in May, 1995. The memorial
includes also open exhibitions of a military technology and arms, combat
material of the Navy, railway armies and engineering constructions.
